Posted August 25, 2008 09:11:00

Police say a man savagely beaten in Sydney's south-west at the weekend remains in a critical condition.

The 23-year-old was walking through an underpass at Airds just before midnight on Saturday when he was attacked by at least two men.

Police believe the man was punched and kicked as he laid on the ground.

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital when he remains in an induced come.

A witness has told police they saw two or three men of Pacific Islander appearance attacking the victim.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
