Posted August 25, 2008 10:00:00

A Canberra man who rescued a driver from a burning car has been commended in the latest round of Australian Bravery Awards.

John Miller Sim managed to pull the man through the window of the car in Sydney in 2004 after it collided with a prime mover.

Mr Sim is among 18 Australians to receive Commendations for Brave Conduct.

Twenty-four others will be awarded bravery medals.
