Mine researchers land US contract

The Queensland Government's mine research unit has been awarded a $350,000 contract in the United States.

The Safety in Mines Testing and Research Station (SIMTARS) will provide software to the Washington-based National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety.

The gas monitoring system is already used in underground coal mines in Queensland and New South Wales.
