Easts' dramatic win over Royals to qualify for the ACT Club Rugby grand final headlines the latest round of Canberra football.

ACT Club Rugby: Final:

Queanbeyan will play Easts in the grand final of the ACT Club Rugby competition.

Easts won through to the decider with an exciting 36-30 victory over Royals.

The contest between the competition's leading players and opposing flankers, Henry Vanderglas from Easts and Sokai Tai from Royals, was a highlight.

An early try to Vanderglas gave Easts the advantage but Tai had a hand in the Royals' reply. They hit the front after half time.

The match turned with a try in the corner to Easts super-sub Jimmy Compton.

Two more tries clinched Easts first grand final appearance since 1973. The club is chasing its first premiership in more than 60 years.

Queanbeyan will aim to defend the John I Dent Cup against Easts at Viking Park next Saturday.

Canberra Raiders Cup: round 17

Canberra Raiders Cup rugby league appears set for a play-off to determine fourth position that could involve three teams.

The equation is complicated. With one round to play, West Belconnen, Tuggeranong and the Queanbeyan Kangaroos could all finish on 23 competition points.

If that happens, the two teams with the lowest points differential will play-off on Tuesday week with the winner to meet the third team on Thursday for a place in the finals.

It is a simpler scenario for the Queanbeyan Blues and Goulburn, their weekend wins secured finals positions.

West Belconnen held off a late challenge from Woden to win 38-30.

Capital Football: round 18

Canberra FC, Canberra Olympic, Belconnen United and O'Connor Knights will contest finals action when the four teams square off in semi-final action next weekend.

Woden Valley will be wishing they did not leave their finals run so late as the young side had another win with a 3-0 victory over Tuggeranong United.

It was Woden's fifth win in eight games leaving them fifth on the ladder.

Canberra FC finally got their hands on the League Champion silverware with the presentation made before their blockbuster 3-0 victory over Belconnen United.

With scores level at half time, it took a piece of brilliance from Canberra FC's Alex Castro to break the deadlock and open the flood gates. Paul Ivanic found the back of the net for his 21st goal of the season before Kole Aitken made it 3-0.

Canberra FC finishes the season with 15 wins and one loss.

Canberra Olympic claimed a spot in the major semi-final against Canberra FC with another convincing victory, this time a 4-1 win over ANU on Sunday.

Olympic has recorded 19 goals and conceded only once this season.

Canberra City and Queanbeyan City finished their respective seasons with a flurry of goals in a 3-3 draw at the Riverside Stadium in Queanbeyan on Sunday.

Neither side had the chance of making the finals but played out an exciting fixture with six entertaining goals. Both Queanbeyan's Ned Aleksic and Canberra City's Kevin Room scored twice.
