Date set for patient deaths inquest

Posted August 26, 2008 10:49:00

A date has been set for the inquest into the deaths of two patients at the Tocumwal District Hospital in southern New South Wales.

The inquiry will examine the deaths of 88-year-old Bob Cooling and 70-year-old Ralf Grenfell.

Mr Cooling's body was exhumed last year on the coroner's orders.

The inquiry is due to begin in Albury on March 16 and is expected to take about two weeks.

Tocumwal's only doctor, Balaji Rao, was suspended from the hospital during the inquiry into the patient deaths, sparking a groundswell of support from local residents.
