Construction down over June quarter

Posted August 27, 2008 12:16:00

There has been a slide in the value of construction work done over the June quarter, in another sign of a slowing economy.

Official figures show $30.1 billion worth of construction work was completed in the three months to June.

That is down 2.6 per cent on the previous quarter.

There have been slight rises in building and residential work, but the value of engineering work has tumbled.
