Outlook indicates average spring rain

Posted August 27, 2008 13:39:00

The prospect of average spring rainfall across Victoria and southern New South Wales remains strong.

The weather bureau's latest three-month outlook indicates no strong swing towards wetter or drier than average conditions.

There is a stronger chance of below average rain in the far north-west of Victoria and south-west of New South Wales.

The National Climate Centre's Clinton Rakich says the outlook has changed little in the past month.

"With the Pacific still in neutral conditions we're still going for a relatively stable period through spring, not much guidance swinging away from average conditions for the spring period, so rainfall looking around closer to average," he said.
