A Sydney court has heard the 45-year-old man accused of murdering Sydney model Caroline Byrne expected gifts and bonuses from his employer Rene Rivkin.

Gordon Wood a former chauffeur for late stock broker Rene Rivkin, is accused of throwing 24-year-old Ms Byrne off a cliff in Eastern Sydney.

The model's father Anthony Byrne has told the court his daughter started dating Wood around 1992 after meeting him at a gym in the city.

Anthony Byrne said Caroline told him Wood expected bonuses and gifts from Mr Rivkin, travelled overseas with him and got jealous when Rene Rivkin gave cash and gifts to another man called George who was his toy boy.

The court previously heard Wood had a motive to murder Ms Byrne because she knew too much about Mr Rivkin's business affairs.
