Uni, Port Kembla look to bolster Indonesian ties

Posted August 28, 2008 13:43:00

Port Kembla and the University of Wollongong look likely to develop stronger ties with Indonesia after the visit of a senior Indonesian business delegation yesterday.

The delegation from Indonesia's peak construction industry body toured the port and the university's Innovation Campus.

Peter O'Neil, who helped organise the visit, says delegates displayed a keen interest in the planned port upgrades and the new campus.

"The delegates are interested to see how the campus operates as a university campus, how it links in with business and industry in the community," he said.

"They were very interested to know how those relationships were developed, how companies came in and became partners in the Innovation Campus."
