Manchester Unity backs HCF merger

Private health insurer Manchester Unity Australia has backed a $256 million buyout bid.

The Manchester Unity board has signed a merger agreement with HCF of Australia, which is the country's third largest private health insurer

Manchester Unity's 90,000 members must approve the plan and they will receive a cash payout if they do so.

A combined group will have more than 500,000 policy holders.
