Posted August 29, 2008 07:43:00

Police have charged a man over a suspected drug-related death in central Queensland.

He was detained on Thursday afternoon.

Regional crime coordinator Detective Inspector Jon Wacker says the man was remanded in custody to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.

"As a result of investigations conducted in relation to Task Force Golf Cove, a 25-year-old Rockhampton man was arrested ... and charged with manslaughter," he said.

"This relates to the death of Bronte James Clifford, a 21-year-old male ... who died on the 9th of June, 2008."

Five people have died from suspected drug overdoses in the central Queensland region in recent months.
