Man accused of murdering mother fronts court

A Jindabyne man has appeared in court charged with murdering his mother.
Stephen Anthony Cavanagh, 53, is accused of murdering Estelle Ivy Cavanagh, 76, in Jindabyne in the New South Wales Snowy Mountains last Thursday.
He faced the Queanbeyan Local Court this morning.
Police were alerted to the woman's disappearance when she failed to turn up to a medical appointment.
Police say they have information they hope will help them find the body soon.
Cavanagh did not apply for bail and he will remain in custody until his next court appearance in Goulburn in October.
