Childcare operator ABC Learning says it is not in a position to release its full year results by the close of business today.

It says it will be breaching Australian Stock Exchange rules.

Shares in ABC Learning have been suspended from trade since last Thursday, because the company says it has been reassessing its accounts for previous years.

There has been media speculation that it will restate its results for at least the past two years.

In a statement to the stock exchange, the company says its full-year result will be finalised as soon as possible.
