John White entitled to legal costs

Posted August 29, 2008 14:20:00

The Federal Court has ruled former Tasmanian Compliance Corporation director John White is entitled to $60,000 from company funds to pay his legal costs.

But it says the money should not be paid until after Mr White's good behaviour bond expires at the end of next year.

The company liquidator, Barry Hamilton, sought the ruling to clear-up questions about the distribution of funds.

But Justice Heerey has questioned Mr Hamilton's $40,000 in legal costs, suggesting the liquidator should ask his solicitors to reconsider their bill.
