NSW Govt recommends bus fare hike

The NSW Government is recommending a 5.5 per cent increase in bus fares.
The recommendation is contained in a submission to the pricing regulator.
The Transport Department says single bus fares in Sydney and Newcastle need to rise to recover some of the increasing costs of managing and maintaining services.
It says Travel Pass products should be increased by between two and six dollars to make prices more consistent with discounts available on other types of fares.
