Coach split not because he sold secrets: Schipper

Former 200 metres butterfly world record holder Jessicah Schipper has denied her split with long-time coach Ken Wood had anything to do with the fact that he sold training tips to the Chinese.
Schipper collected the bronze medal in the 200 metres butterfly final at the Beijing Olympics which was won by Chinese swimmer Lui Zige.
Schipper says she knew that her rival had based her training on Wood's techniques.
"I was aware of that fact since the moment he started doing it - we don't have any secrets," she said.
"Being a 10-year relationship we're both pretty open with each other and I was aware that obviously he was selling sessions and that 'Lucy' did come to train with me for a couple of weeks a couple of years ago."
She said he reasons for splitting with Wood are nothing to do with the recent revelations.
"After 10 years of swimming with Ken I just feel it's time for a change, it's been something I've been thinking about for a couple of months now and I just decided that I want to move on."
Schipper said there is a strong chance she will join Libby Trickett's squad at the Valley Pool in Brisbane, which is coached by Stefan Widmer.
