Govt quizzed over research facility future

Posted September 4, 2008 09:19:00

The federal MP for New England, Tony Windsor, says he is seeking clarification from the Federal Government about the future of the CSIRO research facility at Chiswich, south of Armidale.

He says a number of people have warned him they are worried the centre might close as part of a rationalisation of the organisation's operations.

He says he will seek assurances from Agriculture Minister Tony Burke about the facility's future.
