Business chamber backs lake plans

Posted September 4, 2008 10:02:00

Shepparton's chamber of commerce says the city will be much better off once the Victoria Park Lake is redeveloped.

The Greater Shepparton Council has released plans to revive the lake, including a water treatment scheme to allow swimming and recreation.

The plan is out for public comment for the next three weeks.

Chamber president Dawn Taylor says the lake is important to Shepparton.

"Everybody's got a comment on the lake and how it looks now and everybody's got different ideas," she said.

"But I think we're investing in the future and if it's going to take that money then it needs to be done."
