The South Australian Government's country health task force says it is finetuning four key discussion papers on country health to give to Health Minister John Hill.

The task force was originally told to deliver its findings to the Minister by the end of August, but was granted a one-week extension until today.

The head of the task force, Peter Blacker, says it was clear there was not enough time for his group to complete its submission by the deadline.

Mr Blacker says the papers will be given to the Minister as soon as they are ready.

"As soon as we've got them in a situation that the task force is OK with it, then they will be referred to the Minister, I can't really put a timetable on that," he said.
