The Nationals leader Brendon Grylls says he will be speaking with the Liberal leader Colin Barnett today.

With counting set to resume tomorrow, at this stage the Nationals hold the balance of power in the lower house, with both major parties seeking their support in a bid to form government.

Mr Grylls has arrived at Parliament House this morning to meet national party strategists and candidates.

He says he has received calls from the leaders of both major parties, and Mr Barnett left a message on his phone this morning.

"Obviously I've had a call from Alan Carpenter as well," he said.

"We'll just have a bit of a chat with our team at the moment about going forward, obviously we're still counting, there are still a few seats up in the air, who knows where they will fall, obviously there is still some potential nationals wins and we'd like them to be involved as well."
