Jail suspended over fatal for sleeping driver

Jail suspended over fatal for sleeping driver (ABC News)

A South Australian man who killed another after falling asleep while driving has been given a six-month suspended jail sentence.

Graham John Jarrett, 58, was travelling on the Yorke Highway near Ardrossan last September when he veered onto the wrong side of the road.

His car collided with another, killing its driver Donald March, 72.

Port Adelaide Magistrates Court was told there was no evidence of speed or alcohol being factors and Jarrett was deeply remorseful.

The magistrate disqualified him from holding a driver's licence for eight months and imposed a one-year good behaviour bond.
