Shooting committal hearing continues

A committal hearing into an alleged shooting that injured two youths in January will continue today in the Mackay Magistrates Court.

Police allege Marden Andrew Rumbel, 51, fired a shotgun at guests at an 18th birthday party on Australia Day at the Colston Park Hall near Sarina, leaving two teenagers with pellets in their legs.

He has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, one count of discharging a firearm and two counts of unlawful wounding.

Magistrate Damian Dwyer heard evidence from 12 people on Wednesday and the case was adjourned until today.
