Teens hospitalised after police chase crash

Posted September 30, 2008 09:13:00

Four teenagers are in hospital after the stolen car they were in crashed during a police pursuit in Sydney's south-west overnight.

Campbelltown officers were carrying out random breath tests in Airds just before midnight when a car failed to stop.

Police say they checked its registration and found it was stolen. They chased it for a few minutes until it crashed into a tree stump behind Airds Shopping Centre.

The 15-year-old boy in the passenger's seat was taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he will have surgery for facial injuries. He is under police guard.

Three girls, also 15 years old, were taken to Campbelltown Hospital with bruising and cuts. Police say they were not wearing seatbelts.

They are still looking for the driver.
