Revamp for national park campground

Posted October 6, 2008 10:49:00

The Pondalowie Campground in South Australia's Innes National Park will get a $1.8 million facelift starting in a matter of weeks.

The campground at the foot of the Yorke Peninsula will be closed from November until next July to allow for the works.

District ranger Caroline Paterson says it will cause disruption to campers during that time, but it will create a much better facility for the future.

"The current facilities are at the end of their lifespan," she said.

"It is a quite compacted and heavily used camp site and it's well and truly about time we made it a better experience for people."
