Two canoeists missing in the Snowy Mountains in southern New South Wales have been found.

The 25-year-old Jindabyne man and a 17-year-old from Wahroonga in Sydney left Bullocks Flat yesterday to canoe 15 kilometres along the Thredbo River to Waste Point.

But they failed to return late last night.

Fishermen found the pair along the river around 10:30am.

Police say the men are suffering mild hypothermia.

The men reportedly told their rescuers they decided to camp overnight when they got too tired to continue the trip.
