Busy schedule for G-G's Broken Hill visit

Governor-General Quentin Bryce will arrive in Broken Hill this morning.

Ms Bryce began the first part of her tour of the Murray-Darling region yesterday in Bourke.

Today she will arrive in Broken Hill and start with a tour of the Royal Flying Doctor Service base.

The Governor-General will then meet representatives from the Central Darling Shire, local pastoralists and water experts, for a tour of the Menindee Lakes.

In the afternoon, Ms Bryce will see performances at the Thankakali Arts Centre.

She will then visit the Sculpture Symposium, where a discussion on cultural interpretation and environmental management will be held.

Ms Bryce will finish the day with a civic reception at the Broken Hill Art Gallery, before flying to Mildura on Wednesday morning.
