Hungarian, not US plane landed in Iran: report

An Iranian state television station has said a plane that was forced to land in Iran was Hungarian, not a US military plane as reported earlier by a semi-official Iranian news agency.

Iran's Arabic-language al-Alam satellite station, citing a military source, also said there had been no US military officials on board, as it had earlier reported.

The semi-official Fars News Agency had reported that a US military aircraft violated Iranian territory unintentionally and had been forced to land in Iran.

The Pentagon denied the report, saying all American planes were accounted for.
