The Community Alliance Party (CAP) says it is committed to increasing the level of input Canberrans have in the ACT planning process.

The party has promised to restore neighbourhood level planning by involving community members in the urban design process.

The ACT Greens launched their planning policy yesterday and also committed to reviving the neighbourhood planning scheme.

CAP candidate Roger Nicoll says other parties are recognising the importance of getting Canberrans involved in the planning process.

"Getting the community involved is definitely a priority for the Community Alliance Party," he said.

"We don't think it is such a priority for some of the other parties but it's encouraging to see that parties are now copying our policies."
