The number of homeless people sleeping in Adelaide's inner-city has fallen by nearly half from June last year.
The latest Inner-City Rough Sleeping Count recorded 59 people, which is down from 108.
The Social Inclusion Commissioner, Monsignor David Cappo, says figures from the Bureau of Statistics show there have been statewide reductions in homelessness.
Monsignor Cappo says more still needs to be done, but he is pleased to see fewer people sleeping rough in the city.
"We've got some significant drops in the number of rough sleeper homeless people in Adelaide, that's good news," he said.
"But the issue of homelessness is a continual battle, we've got to continue to put key resources into dealing with homelessness."
"A rough sleeper is someone who's in our parklands, and who's sleeping out at night, and of course that is one of the most vulnerable positions that anyone can be in, to not have any shelter."
