Decorated horse trainer Bart Cummings has been elevated to legend status in the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in Melbourne.
Cummings is the 28th person honoured as a legend and joins the likes of Don Bradman, Betty Cuthbert and Rod Laver.
Cummings has trained 11 Melbourne Cup winners.
The Hall of Fame evening also recognised the most successful men's doubles team in tennis history, Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde.
Former Broncos half-back Allan Langer, superstar swimmer Ian Thorpe and baseballer David Nilsson were also honoured.
Woodbridge and Woodforde won 61 doubles titles together, including 11 grand slam crowns and a gold medal at the 1996 Olympics.
Woodbridge says it is fantastic to be recognised alongside his former doubles partner.
"We've had a great time getting together in some of the legends events now," he said.
"And to be able to be recognised as the 'Woodies' again is pretty special because we followed in the steps of Newcombe and Roach.
"They were sort of idols of ours. Hopefully now we're the measure for the generations behind us to try and beat us."
