Overloaded power circuit causes fire

Posted October 9, 2008 07:23:00

An overloaded power circuit is believed to have sparked a fire that destroyed a house at Davoren Park last night.

The fire broke out in the house on Fordingbridge Road at about 7:00pm, causing $150,000 damage.

The Metropolitan Fire Service says the fire quickly spread throughout the house when the television exploded.

Fire cause investigators say say no one was home but the television and a number of other appliances and lights had been left on.
