A Sydney court has granted bail to the former doctor accused of sexually assaulting and mutilating female patients.

Graham Reeves faces 17 charges relating to 10 alleged victims at hospitals in Sydney, Pambula and Bega.

He was arrested about a month ago at Baulkham Hills in Sydney's north-west.

The 58-year-old appeared at Central Local Court today, where he posted $20,000 for bail.

He has been ordered to give up his passports and report to police three times a week.

He has also been ordered not to contact any Crown witness or alleged victim, unless he does so through his solicitor.

Mr Reeves will face court again at the Downing Centre next month.
