Posted October 9, 2008 14:12:00

The homicide squad has been called in to investigate the suspicious death of an elderly woman at East Nowra on the New South Wales south coast.

Police say the woman in her 80s was found yesterday at Woronora Place near the Nowra Private Hospital, by a friend who visits her.

A crime scene has been set up around the area.

Police hope a post-mortem examination will determine how she died.
