Prosecutors in Perth have decided to continue with a murder case that was thrown into doubt when it was revealed some of the evidence had been accidentally contaminated.

Dannie Adam Wright is accused of murdering 22-year-old chinese student Jiao Dan at Innaloo in October last year.

It was revealed earlier this year that the trial may not go ahead because some non-crucial exhibits had been accidentally contaminated with the DNA of a police officer.

However, today the matter was set down for a 15 day trial in March next year.

Mr Wright has pleaded not guilty.

He was remanded in custody.
