Queensland Police Minister Judy Spence says she will allow the Brisbane Airport Corporation's (BAC) logo to appear on police cars.

The BAC's logo will soon appear on all police cars throughout the state as part of a sponsorship deal with Crimestoppers.

Ms Spence had earlier voiced concern the deal had been done without her knowledge.

But late this afternoon she told Parliament two security company logos have appeared on Crimestoppers stickers before and she will allow the practice to continue.

"I do not accept the argument that this practice has led or will lead to our police service relying on advertising or sponsorship to operate effectively or jeopardises police independence," she said.

Meanwhile, Ms Spence says police officers will soon be armed with new radar technology to catch speeding drivers.

She says 234 new devices will be purchased at a cost of $1.4 million.

The Police Minister told Parliament they will be distributed throughout the state in time for the busy Christmas holiday period.

"By investing in these extra resources, we are enabling police to conduct more high visibility operations aimed at deterring drivers from speeding," she said.

"The message to drivers is if you speed, police will be out in force to catch you anywhere, any time."
