The Euroa car parts firm, Teson Trim will close its doors for the final time today, putting 100 people out of work.

The Strathbogie Shire Council has been given $250,000 dollars from the Victorian Government to help with retraining.

Local mayor, Greg Carlson said the closure has put eight per cent of the town's workforce out of a job.

"[The] majority of the money will be spent on retraining programs that will provide the workers with the opportunity to upskill," he said.

"And also there's going to be a $47,000 grant to assist the council to develop an economic development strategy in the short term, to identify any opportunities we might have."
