Plea to find aged care sex assault man

Police have released the description of a man they say sexually assaulted an elderly woman at a Renmark Aged Care home last month.

Chief Inspector Bob Fauser from the Riverland Police says the assault occurred at about 2:00pm on Sunday September 28.

He says the offender is a male aged between 16 and 24, about 165 centimetres tall with dark hair and skin.

Inspector Fauser says police need help from the public to find the suspect, but he says locals should not be alarmed.

"This was not an offence where this person has broken into a home in the hours of darkness, it's an offence where the offender has chosen an opportunity, and has targeted a very vulnerable location," he said.

"So as serious as this matter is, there is not cause for concern for residents thinking that they're vulnerable in their own home."
