Aged care death declared major crime

Posted October 10, 2008 15:29:00

The death of a 91-year-old resident of a western suburbs aged care facility in Adelaide has been declared a major crime.

The death was on September 25, but no details of the cause have been given.

Management of Southern Cross Care says it is treating the matter with the greatest concern.

Chief executive Michael Bendyk says he can offer little comment because of the ongoing investigation by the Major Crime Squad.

"Management and staff are continuing to do everything possible to assist police," he said.

"The wellbeing of residents remains our utmost priority."
