UNE celebrates spring graduations

Posted October 13, 2008 08:21:00

The University of New England (UNE) has wound up its annual spring graduation ceremony with about 1,000 people receiving degrees.

They were joined by family and friends over two days of graduations in the faculties of Arts and Sciences and Professions.

The vice-chancellor, Professor Allan Pettigrew, says it provides an economic boost for the local community.

"We have students across the country who study at the UNE by distance education and some who come from very long distances to study on campus. They often bring their families with them on these occasions," he said.
