Posted October 13, 2008 08:36:00

Police are renewing an appeal for information about the disappearance of a Gold Coast truck driver in north-west New South Wales five years ago.

James Douglas Whyte, 31, of Broadbeach, has not been seen November 2003.

His Mack truck was found abandoned on a cotton farm east of Collarenebri a day after he phoned his fiancee.

Police have followed a number of leads but they have not found Mr Whyte.

They are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
