Man to front court over Thursday Is assault

A 21-year-old woman is in hospital after being attacked by a man in the Torres Strait.

Police say she was assaulted at a home on Thursday Island yesterday afternoon.

A 21-year-old man is due to face court today charged with attempted murder and assault occasioning bodily harm.
