Livni signs draft coalition deal

Posted October 14, 2008 07:15:00

A spokesman for Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni says her Kadima party has signed a draft coalition deal with the Labour party, bringing her closer to becoming Israel's next prime minister.

Ms Livni took the party leadership from prime minister Ehud Olmert in September, following a corruption scandal.

She has until November to form a new government.
