Underpants MP takes back infamous couches

Posted October 14, 2008 14:15:00

Former New South Wales police minister Matt Brown has taken back the green Chesterfield couches that featured in his downfall.

Mr Brown was forced to resign shortly after being sworn into his new portfolio about a month ago because he misled Premier Nathan Rees about the events surrounding a drunken post-Budget party.

The minister admitted dancing in his underpants but denied claims he mimed a sex act with Wollongong MP Noreen Hay at the party in his office in June.

The couches had been paid for out of Mr Brown's own pocket and had been moved into storage at State Parliament after his demotion.

A furniture removal truck arrived this morning to pick them up.
