Nathan Ablett has been delisted by Geelong after informing the club that he does not wish to revive his AFL career.

Ablett did not play in 2008 after telling the Cats that his passion for the game had waned.

The 22-year-old also said he did not appreciate the media attention that came with being an AFL star.

The son of club legend Gary Snr and younger brother of current Cats star Gary Junior, Nathan Ablett played only 32 games for the club after debuting in 2005.

The club had hoped that a training run with the club's VFL team this season would rekindle his desire to play again.

But he informed the Cats recently that he was moving far north Queensland to pursue a career in the building industry.

The Cats have also delisted midfielder Jason Davenport, who did not play at AFL level in three seasons with the club.

He was however a member of the Cats' 2007 VFL premiership side and won the club's VFL best and fairest award that year.

Liam Bedford and Chris Kangars were also delisted from the rookie list.
