FESA warning of an early start to fire season

The Fire and Emergency Authority has warned Perth could be in for a worse than average bushfire season.
Chief operations officer Craig Hynes says people need to start preparing their homes as the season draws closer.
He says unusual weather conditions mean it could begin as early as next month.
"There's a lot of potential for fire out there this year," he said.
"We've had little rain in August, had a wetter than normal winter and in fact the fuels out there are quite high and we believe this year's fire season could be four to five weeks ahead of what would normally happen."
He says people living near bushland need to have an action plan ready.
"Really take a good look of what you're going to do," he said.
"Have your bushfire kit available, suitable clothing, water supplies and instructions on what you're going to do when a fire occurs."
