Police investigate church fires

Police are investigating two fires at a church in north-east Victoria overnight.

The first fire at the Lutheran church at Guinea Street, Albury, happened just after 11.00 pm AEDT.

It was in the office area and was quickly extinguished by the pastor.

Another fire began in the office at 3.30am AEDT and was put out by the fire brigade.

Police say the office is badly damaged.

The cause of the fires is being investigated.
