Posted October 15, 2008 16:00:00

Fire crews are working to contain a bushfire in Hamilton Hill.

The blaze is burning on both sides of Stock road between Phoenix and Forrest Roads.

The Fire and Emergency Services Authority says the blaze is potentially threatening homes.

Residents who are not prepared for the passage of the blaze have been urged to leave their homes.

Several roads in the area are closed to motorists.
