Crews control Tablelands blaze

Posted October 15, 2008 19:31:00

Fire crews have brought a blaze under control which covered about 100 hectares on the Tablelands in north Queensland.

The grass fire broke out in Wondecla in the Herberton region about lunchtime. It is burning near Cleghorn and Rolley Roads.

The Fire Service says no homes are under threat.

Nine crews, including urban and rural firefighters, are conducting backburning.

All roads remain open and residents are being asked to be wary of smoke and ash.
