Posted October 16, 2008 09:00:00

A 24-year-old Gold Coast man has appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court accused of terrorising a girl for 10 months.

The Surfers Paradise resident, who cannot be named, is accused of numerous offences including unlawful assault occasioning bodily harm, deprivation of liberty, making threats and torture.

It is alleged he committed the offences against the girl at several addresses at Southport, Arundel and South Brisbane between January and October 4, 2008.

It is also alleged he told the girl he would put her in a bag with a heavy object and throw her into the Hinze Dam, and that he would tie her up at a rubbish tip and leave her there to die.

The man was granted bail, provided he has no contact with his alleged victim.

He is due to appear in court again next month.
