Football superstar David Beckham will show his wares in Australia for the second time in a year with his American club LA Galaxy to play the Queensland Roar in December.

Roar officials and Queensland Sports Minister Judy Spence will this morning announce details of the crowd-pulling friendly match to be played at Brisbane's Lang Park on December 11.

Ms Spence says other high-profile Galaxy players including Landon Donovan, Edson Buddle and Eddie Lewis will also play in the match at Lang Park.

The Police Minister says tickets go on sale at the end of the month and she is expecting a sell-out crowd.

"I think there'll be a lot of people who have never come to a soccer match who are going to come and watch David Beckham play," she said.

"It's amazing to have someone like him in our own backyard. We don't have to travel to America or England to see someone like him.

"And the fact that his coming here to Brisbane will attract people from all Queensland and probably all over Australia."

Beckham drew a crowd of 80,000 to Sydney's Olympic stadium late last year when the Galaxy went down 5-3 to Sydney FC despite a signature goal from the former England captain.

The Galaxy, who have missed out on the American Major League Soccer (MLS) play-offs, head Down Under for two games this summer starting with a clash against an Oceania XI in Auckland on December 6.
